Meet Samantha Johnson – The owner

Samantha has been living in Portland, Oregon for 40 years and her experience spans multiple industries. She doesn’t back down from a challenge and is a life long learner. 

She started Essential Cleaning in 2020 after working in the commercial restoration business. She worked high up on buildings, and underground as well. It was in these challenging work environments she recognized the need to accomplish cleaning and restoration in a way that respects and protects the environment, and us humans. 

Samantha values a beautiful and clean environment, and believes that we can achieve these things in a healthy and reasonable way.  Samantha recognizes the transformative nature that cleaning can have on our indoor and outdoor spaces, and wants to provide this to others! Samantha also loves various sports activities, a good mystery to solve, riding her bike, weight lifting, and building relationships with people from diverse backgrounds.

Rate the dirt level in the home, on a scale of 1-10. A 10 is very dirty requiring vigorous scrubbing. Dirty walls, dirty floors, and every surface is grimy. Dirt has built up everywhere and will require scraping, scrubbing, etc. A 1 is so clean you could eat off the floors! A 4-5 would be a regularly maintained home that has a few people and pets living in it.
